This weekend was the
Friends of Scotchman's Peak
Third Annual Plein Air Paint-out
September 24 - 26, 2010

Hope, Idaho

Artist painted in the area around
Hope and Clark Fork
Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning
Artist and the public were invited
to vote for their favorite painting.
The winner of that was awarded one vote of four.
The three distinguished judges had the other three.
All agreed the quality was very high this year.
I was hoping for an honorable mention.
It was a surprise and an honor to be awarded
Best of Show...

I'm often told my plein air work is
too messy and unfinished.
Today the judges liked that.
This sort of thing involves a lot of
chance or luck. I'll explain soon all the
strange things that lead to this painting.
Tomorrow I will post the other
eight paintings I produced in a day and a half.

Still Life!
Finally feel well enough to paint a little.
It's been two weeks since starting treatment for
double pneumonia. Luckily old people don't
get as sick as the young with this.
Even so, not fun.
